You may notice that our prices are much lower than other sources of excellent quality vintage portraits. So what’s the catch? How can true vintage photographs of very good to excellent quality be sold at this price? Even reproductions of these items will often run several times this amount, so how can Artella sell authentic originals for such low prices?

1. We often buy everything in bulk at huge estate lots, and that’s why we are able to provide the lowest prices online. It’s like a perpetual Artella-style treasure hunt!

2. You purchase by category, rather than buying individual pieces. In the case of Cabinet Photos, for example, you select a theme, i.e. “Woman”, and you allow destiny to take over as we select a fantastic, authentic photograph for you. Additionally, all of our vintage goods have to get Artella’s certified approval in the following:

a) We certify date and authenticity as best possible, short of notifying the FBI, CSI, or contacting every known extended family member, friend, or mailman still walking the earth.
b) We sell only items starting in very good and up to mint condition.
c) All items come from a smoke-free environment.
d) All items receive extra Artella love in handling, processing, and packaging as they are sent from Hawaii with aloha.
e) All items must have excellent potential for art-making!
