Artella’s PoemPlay Pilgrimage: A Full 8-Month Self-Discovery Adventure

Includes:

  • 26 Weeks of PoemSignments! — You’ll receive a weekly PoemPlay Play for 26 different poetic forms representing every letter of the alphabet (from Annagramatic to Zuihitsu!)  Each Pack is an evocative adventure into the weeks’ given format, including:

    • the history, cultural background and artistic context for the style

    • step-by-step instructions for creating your own

    • an interactive Poem PlaySheet, designed to help you play through the process of transforming everyday language into the given poetic form

    • example PlaySheets and resulting poems, to get inspired and see the process in action

    • a collection of follow-up reflection questions to help bring your insights back to your own self-discovery

    • Marney’s fun video guiding you through the process

  • PLUS Twice-monthly PoemPlay Jams— Artella Poetry Reading events where Pilgrimage participants will come together to read and celebrate the poems everyone is creating! In the most supportive audience you can imagine, you’ll experience the power of sharing and receiving immediate response about how your words touch others.

    The PoemPlay Jams are held on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 12pm Noon Eastern.  If you are ever not able to attend live, you can record your reading to be played during class, or give to Marney or another Poem Playmate to read live.

  • PLUS the Pilgrimage Publication Playground– In June/July 2024, we’ll focus on the publication process, resulting in an anthology of A-Z poems from our collective Pilgrimage! The resulting anthology will be available as an eBook as well as a physical book that you will be able to order to give to friends or even sell yourself.  In addition to seeing your work in published form, you’ll get to watch the whole process up close, so that whenever you may decide to publish your own work, you’ll have a roadmap to follow for things like:

    • editorial/selection

    • cover design

    • layout

    • editing

    • publication specs

    • marketplace configuration

Program Dates: You receive your Weekly PoemPlay Pack each Monday.  The Live PoemPlay Gatherings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.  Our second class is  January 18, 2024…you can jump right in!
